We specialise in the effects of work on an employee’s health and the effect an employee’s health condition has on their ability to undertake or continue in their role.
We provide objective advice to Line Managers to enable them to manage an employee’s health situation in the workplace.
We are able to provide short term confidential counselling on a variety of topics including anxiety, bereavement, bullying, illness, mental health issues, relationships, trauma and work related stress.
Our service can be accessed on a pay as you go basis or via annual subscription. Please contact us for further information on our annual subscription prices. If you opt to pay as you go you will be invoiced at the end of the month once the service has been completed.
Confidentiality and Data Protection
Medical information is confidential and is kept in accordance with the Access to Medical Records Act (AMRA) 1998 and GDPR. There are exceptions where we may have to share information;
• Where the individual would be liable to civil or criminal court proceedings if the information was not disclosed;
• Where the individual believes the client or third party is in serious danger e.g. child protection issues.
If you wish to cancel an appointment 48 hours’ notice is required. Cancelled appointments or failure to attend an appointment will be charged in full.

The Essex County Council Wellbeing Service provides wellbeing solutions to support a healthy and productive workforce. Our qualified health professionals and our vast experience means we can meet your specific requirements whilst ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice. We are made up of the Occupational Health and the Counselling Service and provide specialist advice in the following areas:

• IHER applications
• Management advice on workplace adjustments
• Management advice on supporting employees with mental health
• Risk management advice
• Pre-employment screening
• Stress management advice
• Long term absence advice
Our Occupational Health Advisors are specialist practitioners registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) and are qualified to degree level in Nursing. Our OH Physician is a registered Member of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine.
All our Counsellors are registered with the British Association of Counselling Practitioners (BACP) and fully qualified, experienced practitioners using a variety of theoretical models including Person centered, Integrative, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
